The Arts of Leisure celebrates the beauty of slowing down and making with intention. We believe creativity is not just a practice but a way of living. One that invites curiousity and connection. We find creativity in knitting, sewing, taking photos, setting a table, growing a garden, making a meal and in gathering our friends.

We host thoughtfully curated gatherings and retreats that bring together makers, artists and curious creatives to learn from each other, create and share meaningful moments.

In October 2027, we are so excited to host our first overseas Makers Retreat  in Cornwall, England, where participants will spend time immersed in creativity, coastal beauty and the simple pleasure of making alongside a likeminded community.

Christine is an award-winning cookbook author, chef and recipe developer. At an early age, she developed a passion for travel, and the potential for it to restore, inspire, and build community. An avid crafter, Christine can often be found knitting, sewing or doodling. She gardens in the loosest sense of the word, but enjoys it immensely. She believes in creating more than she consumes, and approaches all her projects with a sense of creativity and play.

Throughout her career Christine has lived and worked in the UK, France, Germany, the US and Czechia. She enjoys authentic and off the beaten path experiences, especially long walks and tracking down hard to find textiles or the kinds of restaurants only locals know about.

Christine lives on the Southern Shore of Nova Scotia, where she hosts cooking classes and communal dinners. She is currently working on her first novel.

Nataschia is a photographer, creative, and quiet observer of the details that make a place feel like something really special.

For more than two decades, Nataschia has worked as a commercial photographer, primarily with wineries and restaurants and she’s had a front row seat to the growing hospitality industry in the region. And outside of client work, she’s drawn to slower days, and has been exploring ways to be creative. She values great conversation and the kind of experiences that really stay with you.

If you’re travelling with Nataschia, you can expect unhurried walks in morning light, and you’ll be invited to join in on the hunt for good coffee and pastries. As all photographers do, she practises the art of noticing; seeing textures, the way shadows fall, and how colours change in different light. She’s most excited to create the space for others to explore and do the same.
