Experience Partners
The Arts of Leisure is not just a business but a passion project where we showcase the amazing things our friends and family have to teach us. Our Experience Partners are each a domain expert in their own right, and through their expertise we are able to offer a wide variety of programming designing to awaken the maker in all of us.

Amy Funk
Amy Funk was born in BC and started painting as a very young child. Funk studied fine art post high school in Florence, Italy and London, England before completing her fine arts undergraduate degree from the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design in 2008. Amy continued her practice in Manhattan, NYC and Berlin, Germany before switching gears and moving back to her hometown of Vancouver to attend the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts and graduate with both honorable mention and a scholarship in 2010. Working in the culinary world for the past fifteen years both in Ontario and Nova Scotia has allowed Funk to bring her visual aesthetic and thematic interests together. As the daughter of a professional photographer and chef, ingredients as much as art have surrounded her senses from childhood and the evidence of her love for both art forms is manifest in her work. Amy now resides in Lunenburg, NS and is the proud owner and chef of Shore Lunch Food Truck.
Join Amy at our Still Life Painting Immersive this November in Chester, Nova Scotia.

Janice Moreside
Janice Moreside recently retired from a lifetime working in the health sector and academia. She has vast experience teaching, both on an individual and large group level. Throughout her career, and her role as a mother of three, she always made time for creativity and craft. In addition to being an excellent cook and baker, Janice knits, sews, embroiders, gardens and truly embodies what it is to be a maker.
With the arrival of 6 granddaughters over the past 10 years, Janice has rediscovered her
love of smocking. She has made numerous dresses for all the girls, encouraging them
to be worn, not “saved for good”. Smocked dresses are sturdy and lovely; a tribute to
embroidery skills of times gone by.
Join Janice at our Smocking Immersive in Chester, Nova Scotia in Spring of 2027.

Lindsey Cameron Wilson
Lindsay Cameron Wilson is a writer and journalist whose creative journey has always revolved around food. For Lindsay, food is an ingredient, a theme, a metaphor and a portal into story. For ten years she hosted The Food Podcast where conversation, story, music and sound were used to explore these themes around food. Her past work includes co-authoring a series of cookbooks, hosting a cooking show, and writing for various publications. She is a lifelong student of photography, knitting and watercolour, where food has become a still life, a texture and a prompt for painting. Lindsay lives in downtown Halifax with her family and yellow lab, Dottie.
Join Lindsay at our Culinary Writing Immersive this October, in Chester, Nova Scotia.

Lucy Daniel
Lucy Daniel is an award-winning experienced walker and guide, qualified Lowland Leader, former member of a Public Rights of Way team and South West Coast Path Association volunteer path rep and former Trustee (Kings Award for Voluntary Service, June 2025). Her family dates back to 1531 in Cornwall - and probably beyond but it gets difficult to trace further.
Aside from guiding, Lucy works as a model. This led to an offshoot occupation as a sometime supporting artist, including several appearances on BBCTV Poldark.
Throughout her life she has been a keen walker and walked a great deal with her own children from age three to their late teens. She still often walks with her lovely granddaughter.
Lucy will be curating and guiding our walks through Cornwall on our Fowey Makers Retreat in Fall of 2027.
